Privacy Policy
Last updated 22 August 2026. Motion Transport Inc. (“Motion Transport”, “we”, “us”) operates motiontransport.ca. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

What we collect
Information you give us. When you request a quote or contact us, we collect your name, email address, telephone number, the origin and destination of your move, your preferred moving date, and the service you are asking about. If you go on to book, we also collect the pickup and delivery addresses, an inventory of the items being moved, and any access details you tell us (stairs, elevator, parking).
Information collected automatically. When you use the site we collect your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the page that referred you, and — where present in the link you arrived on — advertising parameters such as gclid, wbraid, gbraid, utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content. These tell us which advertisement or search brought you here.
Payment information. Deposits and balances are processed by Stripe. Your full card number never reaches our servers; we receive a confirmation, the amount, and the last four digits.
Communications. We keep the emails, SMS messages and call notes exchanged with you about your move.
Telephone calls that begin from an advertisement. If you reach us by tapping the call button on a Google advertisement, Google may record a small sample of those calls for quality assurance and to detect fraud and abuse. When a call is recorded you will hear an announcement before it begins. These recordings are made and held by Google, not by us — we do not receive them. Google anonymises them, uses them only to assess call quality in aggregate and to detect unauthorised activity, and does not use them for advertising targeting. Calls you place to our published number directly, rather than through an advertisement, are not recorded in this way.
We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we do not collect sensitive categories of information such as health or biometric data.
Why we use it
- To prepare your estimate and answer your enquiry.
- To plan, dispatch and carry out your move, including preparing customs paperwork for cross-border shipments.
- To take payment and issue receipts and invoices.
- To keep you updated about your shipment.
- To measure which advertising and search terms produce genuine enquiries, so we do not waste money on the ones that do not.
- To meet our legal, tax, customs and insurance obligations.
We rely on your consent for marketing and for non-essential cookies, and on the necessity of performing our contract with you for everything required to actually complete your move.
Who we share it with
We share only what each party needs to do its job:
- Fulfillment partners and carriers — the crew and line-haul partners moving your goods receive your name, contact details, addresses, dates and inventory.
- Customs authorities and brokers — for cross-border moves we must provide the documentation required by the Canada Border Services Agency and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- HighLevel (LeadConnector) — our customer relationship system, where your enquiry and move details are stored.
- Google — Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, for website measurement and advertising performance. When you submit a quote request and have accepted advertising cookies, we also send Google a one-way encrypted (SHA-256 hashed) version of your email address and telephone number. The hashing happens in your browser, so Google receives an irreversible fingerprint rather than the address or number itself, and it is sent for one purpose only — to confirm that an advertisement we paid for produced a genuine enquiry. Google calls this “enhanced conversions”. If you decline advertising cookies, nothing is sent.
- Zoho Mail and Google Workspace — email and the internal documents used to run your move.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade your contact details to third parties.
Information stored outside Quebec and Canada
Some of the providers above store or process information in the United States. Where that happens, your information is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its authorities. We use providers that offer contractual protections for personal information, and we share only what is necessary. If you would like more detail about a specific transfer, contact our Privacy Officer.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for up to 24 months so that we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us. Records of completed moves — contracts, invoices, customs and insurance documentation — are kept for seven years, as required for tax and customs purposes. Website analytics are retained for 14 months.
Your rights
You may ask us to give you access to the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it where we are not legally required to keep it, withdraw your consent to marketing at any time, or provide it in a portable format. Under Law 25 you may also ask us to stop disseminating information about you.
Write to charles@motiontransport.ca and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, to the Commission d’accès à l’information.

Security, and changes to this policy
Access to your information is restricted to the people who need it, connections to this site are encrypted, and our systems are protected by access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be brought to your attention on the site.
